How to Jailbreak Your iPod Touch 2G for all OS 4 Features

A lot of second generation iPod Touch owners became very upset when they learned that they would be missing out on a lot of the best features of the OS 4 update that would be coming out in mid-June. Their devices wouldn't be able to have home screen wallpaper backgrounds or the most anticipated feature: multitasking! Luckily, you can jailbreak your iPod Touch the latest jailbreaking software, redsn0w 0.9.2 and get all the features you are missing out on. I am going to teach you the steps of the jailbreaking process and some cool things you can do with it once it's finished.

Step One: Download Redsn0w
This is the software you will be using to jailbreak your iPod; there are others, but this one is the simplest and easiest. To download it go to: http://wikee.iphwn.org/howto:rs9 and scroll all the way to the bottom where it says Download Links. Click on the Windows version if you are on a PC and Mac if you are on a Mac. When the window comes up, press save and save it to a place you will remember in your computer.

Step Two: Run Redsn0w
Go to the place in your computer you saved redsn0w and double click it to run it. A window will come up and you should press the Browse to find a certain file in your computer. If you are on Windows like I was, go to (C:) - Users - (Name of the user of the computer) - App Data - Roaming - Apple Computer - iTunes - iPod Software Updates and it should be the first one there. Double click that, and you will go to the next step.
Step Three: Follow the Directions

After that, it will process the firmware and another window will pop up that will ask if your iPod is an MC model. Click no, because if it was, you would already be able to have the features without having to jailbreak. Click Next and continue after it loads real quick. The next page has check boxes on it and you should have the Install Cydia, Enable Wallpapers, Enable Multitasking, and Enable Battery Pecentage checked only. Press the Next button to continue. Make sure your device is plugged in and TOTALLY off. That means hold the on/off button until you slide the red thing at the top to shut it down. The next directions pop up fast so be ready with one finger near the home button, and one near the on/off button. Click next and immediately start to follow the directions. After the last timer ends, set your iPod Touch down and wait until it says it is done. When it is done, you are finished! You can now do multitasking and have homescreen wallpapers!

iPhone Problems? Rumor -OR- True?

There is a new rumor out and about the nation and it's about Apple's new iPhone 4G. Buyers of this new fine product have found out that whenever you hold the iPhone in your palm, the bars for your mobile signal seem to drop dramatically in just a short amount of time, and when you set it down...they start to go up again. However, the question people are beginning to know the answer to is, is it a rumor or is it true? You will find out on this new blog from GadgetTech!

Because of the many new features that the iPhone 4G has brought to the world, many people think it's the perfect phone...well, all great products have glitches. The antenna made out of exposed metal is completely wrapped around the phone to get your mobile signal. That may be a huge problem for these buyers.
Soon, Apple quickly heard about the problem, and thought they can easily make the problem go away by trying to persuade customers into buying a "bumper" case. Basically what this case does is, they don’t cover the front, nor the back, but they do cover the sides of the device and helps the problem of the loss of signal and comes in a verity of different colors: Black, White, Lime Green, Pink, Bright Blue and Orange.

Believe it or not, customers are STILL not happy; because of this one little detail: 'by trying to persuade customers into
$ -buying - $ a "bumper" case.' Lots of people had opinions and how Apple should just include the case in with the new iPhone free of purchase, but then again Apple IS a business...and they're only out for money.

The company, Apple said it cannot make enough bumpers to satisfy demand, **but will keep the offer of the free case open until September**. So, if you are planning on buying this phone - make sure you do it BEFORE September if you want a free case. And if not, the bumpers are, $29.99 but if you think it's worth not CONSTANTLY dropping signals all the time, then go out and buy yourself a bumper after September. It's your choice. Be sure to be more cautious and aware with future purchases as big as the new iPhone 4G. Thank you so much for reading!

Top Ten App Store Apps for iPhone/iPod Touch Part 2

Welcome to the next installment of the Top Ten App Store Apps for iPhone/iPod Touch. In Part 2, we are going to finish off the countdown with the last half of the apps on my list. So let's begin with #4!

#4 Cube Runner - FREE
Cube Runner is a free game app that is very fun and really cool. To play, you fly a small, triangular looking ship by tilting your device left and right through a huge field of cubes. There are three basic difficulties : easy, medium, and hard, and as the difficulty gets higher, the speed is faster, so you don't have as much reaction time. There are also levels built by others that can be downloaded by typing a URL in.

#3 All-in-1-Gamebox - $.99
This is another one of my all time favorites that I just love to play all the time. For a very low 99 cents, you get a whopping 35 individual games that are very fun and entertaining. A few games are not too good, the the rest make up for it because they are spectacular. Dino Cap, iSniper 3D, Ancient War, and Jailbreaker are just a few of my favorite games to play. The All-in-1 Gamebox app is definitley worth $.99!

#2 TextFree Unlimited - FREE

Textfree Unlimited is a great app that lets you text any mobile phone number in the US and Canada while you are on a wi-fi connection. The app even lets you have your own phone number that other people can text you with. I use this app all the time, and you should get it if your texting bills are very expensive or if you just want to text on your iPod Touch, which is pretty cool.

#1 Eliminate Pro - FREE
Now the developers of this app did a very good job with everything in this app. It is an FPS (First Person Shooter) game that is very similar to Halo. You get your own character and play online multiplayer matches against 3 other people around the world. When you kill someone or win the game, you recieve credits. With these credits, you can buy better gear like armor, weapons, and skins. There are tons of diferent armors and weapons, and the developers come out with something new almost every week. It is a very fun game and I recommend it to everyone.

Here are some screenshots of the game:

Top Ten Apps Store Apps for iPhone/iPod Touch Part 1

There are thousands and thousands of applications available on iTunes' App Store. They can do anything from help you navigate to somewhere, entertain you with games, videos, and photos, or even help you listen and find music you like. My job right now is to narrow down these thousands of apps to the 10 best overall apps in the App Store. I'm only goin to do 5 in this article, but will post another with the top 5 as well. So let's start with number 10!

#10 Pandora - FREE

Pandora is a free app that lets you listen to free music on your iPod or iPhone through a wireless connection. You search for an artist or song in the search bar and it creates a "station" where you can listen to that type of music. Even though they limit you to 6 songs an hour per station, it's a really good, useful app.

#9 Backgrounds - FREE

Backgrounds is another free app that allows you to browse, view and save popular wallpapers in the app itself. You need to be on wi-fi when you browse, but there are almost endless wallpapers to choose from and save to your photo library, where you can use them as your lockscreen or homescreen backgrounds.

#8 Tap Studio - FREE

Tap studio is another free app and it is capable of creating tracks like the ones in Tap Tap Revenge, except you can use music from your own music library! It is very fun and I love the fact that you have the control to do whatever you want.

#7 Jet Car Stunts Lite - FREE

This game is one of my all time favorites. It is a free game where you drive a little car trough a very cool track located in the sky. The obstacles are fun and the tracks never get old. It is a great game to play whenever you are bored.

#6 Pocket God - $.99

Pocket God is a fun entertainment app that puts you on several islands with weird islanders that live there. You are the "god" and can control where they go, what they do, and what happens to them. You can do anything from strike them with lightning to tossing them into the ocean to being thrown in the volcano. The things you can do are almost endless and it never gets boring.

#5 Tap Tap Revenge 3 - FREE

Tap Tap Revenge is a cool game in which you tap little balls across the bottom of the screen to the rhythm and music of a song. Think of it sort of like Guitar Hero or Rock Band. The developers update it frequently with new songs and artists almost every week. I really recommend downloading this app.

The New iPhone 4G

We all recognize the name: iPhone by Apple and that a lot of buzz is flooding the entire country about the new iPhone 4G releasing this summer in July. The colors of the iPhone are a bit limited but they have black (pictured above) and they have a white (not pictured). There are so many new things that they've done to this one phone, to make it faster and more efficient. In 2007, the iPhone re-invented the phone, in 2008, the iPhone 3G brought faster 3G networking and of course, the App Store; in 2009, the iPhone 3GS was TWICE as fast and brought out new features like video recording...and in 2010, here we have the iPhone 4G which is the BIGGEST step forward since the original iPhone creation.

What Is New! About the iPhone:

#1) Video Calling:

- All of us have dreamed of being able to talk on a phone through video. Well the new iPhone 4G has offically made that dream - a reality. From iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi, it instantly connects you to your friends and family. The new iPhone 4G also has two cameras, so you can see both views. The front camera focuses on you, but if you want to quickly flip it around to the back camera you can, any time during your video call.

#2) More Clearly Designed

- On the iPhone 4G is the sharpest, most vibrant, highest-resolution phone screen ever, with four times the pixel count of previous iPhone models. Whether your looking at pictures, taking videos, reading texts...it's all right there - in clear view.

#3) Multi-Tasking

- By double-pressing the Home Button anytime, you can instantly go to another app and then come back to the same app you originally started out with and it was paused the exact same way you left it; without draining the battery unnessisarily or slowing down the progress of the apps.

#4) Video

- We all know that the iPhone CAN take videos, but what we DIDN'T know is that the iPhone can take videos in HD anywhere, anytime! Capture impressive video, and even in low-light thanks to the new illumination sensor and built-in LED light. Then edit and create your on little slideshow/movie using the iMovie app.

#5) Camera

- And last, but certainly not least; the camera. Take goregoues, detailed pictures with the 5-megapixel camera with built-in LED flash, so you can take pictures in low-light and really make them jump out of the screen! And the newest, front-facing camera helps make it easier to take self-portraits to make the photos, nice and crisp.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Extra Information:There are many more details that Apple added to make this phone, the "phone of the century". Such as:
- Thinner and Slicker Design (Height: 4.5 inches, Width: 2.31 inches, Weight: 4.8 ounces, Depth: 0.37 inch)
- Putting Apps into Folders
- Easier Mail
- And in my opinion, the most intelligent and most creative thing that Apple did was to make the battery larger, and the A4 chip smaller, so you can get up to 40% more talk time.
Power and Battery:
- Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery
Charging via USB to computer system or power adapter
- Talk time:Up to 7 hours on 3GUp to 14 hours on 2G
- Standby time: Up to 300 hours
- Internet use:
Up to 6 hours on 3GUp to 10 hours on Wi-Fi
Video playback: Up to 10 hours
- Audio playback: Up to 40 hours
That is all for the new iPhone 4G, I hope this helps you out and makes you think about buying this incredible new phone. It may get a little expensive (16GB = $199, 32GB = $299) but for all those wonderful, new features...I think it would be worth it! Thank you so much for reading!
Which iPod Is Right For You?
There are so many different kinds of iPods that are available these days. And it's very hard to figure out which iPod you want to have for possibly the next few years, so you want to make the right decision on what type, model and seller to choose from. To help with your decision on which type of iPod to buy, I have arranged a list with many details on the four major types of iPods that are available today; the iPod Shuffle, the iPod Nano, the iPod Classic, and the iPod Touch . In the list I will describe several aspects of the iPod including size, color, ease of use, battery life, capabilities, memory size, and much more. So without any more delays, lets get started!
iPod Shuffle
The iPod Shuffle is very small, smaller than a regular house key, but can hold up to 1,000 songs, which is amazing. It comes in 5 different colors, silver, black, blue, gree, and pink and only costs about $59 for the 2 Gigabyte model. The iPod Shuffle is a great device for people who just want to listen to music easily and without any hassle. If you are a jogger, cyclist, or someone who works out frequently, this iPod would be perfect for you because it is very small and portable and has a clip on the back of it so you can clip it to your clothing and listen to music hands free. Another this that is great about the Shuffle is that it has a voice system that talks to you through your headphones and tells you which song and artist are playing.
iPod Nano
The iPod Nano is one of the most popular iPods and for many good reasons. It is small and portable like the Shuffle, but it comes in larger sizes, plays music and videos, and even shoots video! It also comes in an assortment of colors from black and silver, to green and blue, and is fairly inexpensive with the base price being $149. The Nano is best for people who want a small little iPod to listen to music to, but also wants the capability to watch videos on it as well.
iPod Classic
The iPod Classic is a medium sized iPod that has HUGE memory capabilities, up to 160 GB! It is a little bit larger than most phones, but can hold up to 40,000 songs, 200 hours of video, or 25,000 photos! It is a little pricey, the starting price is $249, so I don't recommend you buy the Classic if you don't have a lot of songs, videos, or photos in your iTunes Library because you'll just be holding empty space in your iPod for no reason. There are less colors available compared to the Nano and Shuffle, as the Classic can only be black or a silverish-white.
iPod Touch
Last, but definitely not least, the iPod Touch. This iPod has the most features out of all the other iPods and is arguably the most popular too. Its length and width are about the same as the Classic, but it is much, much slimmer and has a 3 inch screen that is great for watching videos on. The most unique thing about the iPod Touch are the apps you can have on it. There are thousands of game, utility, entertainment, and research apps in the App Store that you can download right onto the iTouch and have anywhere you go in the palm of your hand.It also has Wi-Fi capabilities so you can surf the internet wherever there is a wi-fi signal. The iPod Touch is about $199 for the smallest model which holds 8 GB of media. It may seem a little expensive, but it is totally worth it. I've had my iPod Touch for over 2 years now and I still love it as much as I did the day I recieved it.
